The foundation was created by David Perez, a dedicated firefighter with 17 years of service. In 2020, David was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. Faced with his own challenges, he realized the importance of supporting the families of his fallen brothers and sisters in the line of duty. Inspired by their bravery and sacrifice, David founded the Tiny Hero Foundation to honor their legacy by helping their children achieve their educational goals.
